AMSA Executive Bids

The Executive is typically made up of 14 students from one or more medical schools in the same state, each taking on a specific role. They are responsible for maintaining the organisation on a day-to-day basis and coordinating both with AMSA reps at each university, as well as with many outside committees to make sure that your voice as a medical student is heard loud and clear.

The AMSA Executive is elected annually by the AMSA Representatives from each medical school at Third Council. Individual positions within the Executive are not voted upon, rather votes are cast for a whole team.

To be in the running to be a part of an AMSA Executive, you need to complete the following steps (specific dates and quantities will be released by the current Executive as they are confirmed):
  1. Find a team of suitable people to fill the Executive positions. View the structure of the current executive.
  2. Notify the AMSA President (Robert Marshall) of your intention to bid.
  3. Compile a bid document. Submit electronically to the Company Secretary at golsa.adabi@gmail.com by 12 Midnight on the 15th of August 2011.
  4. Prepare a 20 minute presentation introducing your team and outlining your bid, to be delivered at the third Council meeting (8-10th October 2011, Perth, W.A). *Please note that individual bid teams are required to fund travel to and council sitting fees.
  5. Liaise with the National Coordinator (nc@amsa.org.au) regarding your attendance at Second Council by the 15th of August 2011.
