National Rural Leadership Development Seminar

The National Rural Leadership Development Seminar is the first of its kind in Australia, enabling allied health, nursing and medical students to come together in a truly multi-professional arena, to be provided with specific skills needed to excel in career paths in rural and remote Australia.
The 2011 NRLDS will be held in the Barossa Valley in early August.

The Event

The NRLDS is designed to be an interactive “hands-on” experience for delegates where they will be able to gain additional skills to further them as professionals. This event will include keynote speakers, workshops and open floor sessions that will allow delegates to discuss particular issues current within rural, remote and Indigenous health in Australia

In conjunction with the amazing academic program designed to advance the skill base of tomorrow’s leaders in rural health, the NRLDS will boast a social program that will allow delegates, invited guests and sponsors to network together in a formal setting.

Application

All members of Australia’s 29 rural health clubs and 20 medical schools will be invited to apply for NRLDS 2011.
Each applicant will be required to fill in a standardized application form which will include questions regarding their leadership credentials and their commitment to rural health. The most impressive applicants who have not attended a previous NRLDS will be offered delegate positions. Positions will only be offered to previous delegates if all positions are not filled.
Applications for 2011 NRLDS will open in late April.

Registration costs will include travel, accommodation, food and academic sessions.  The cost will be standard across all delegates.
