Electives
Going on your elective is one of the high points of med school. For many, the opportunity to travel overseas, or within Australia, to experience health care in a different (often VERY different) setting is the best part of their entire university experience.
Students go on their electives for very different reasons, and with very different expectations - some want to learn, some want to help, and others just want to have their eyes opened to new experiences. However, when it comes to medical electives, whatever your plans, expectations or desires, chances are someone has been there before.
Planning your elective has the potential to be frustrating and time consuming - AMSA wants to limit this as much as possible. That's why we've created this section of the website - a place where the elective experiences of others can help you undertake the elective you've been planning in your head since 1st year!
Check out AMSA's Elective Database and learn from those who have gone before you.
