The Association’s extensive events calendar offers something for each and every medical student.
The National Convention is AMSA’s premier event and brings together 1,000 medical students in the first week of July. Rotating city every year, it offers a world-class academic program during the day and a spirited social program at night. Recent speakers have included famed immunologist Sir Gustav Nossal, Nobel Prize winner Professor Barry Marshall and revered campaigner Dr Helen Caldicott.
The Global Health Conference focuses on international and indigenous health, with plenary, workshop and discussion sessions.
While the National Leadership Development Seminar, held at Canberra’s Parliament House, features presentations from federal politicians and national leaders, state-based Leadership Development Workshops offer students a chance to engage in interactive sessions with media trainers and local identities.
