For delegates who wish to develop their practical skills, there will be numerous training workshops during the three days preceding the Conference from the 1st to 3rd of July 2008.
AMSA will be conducting a "Training New Trainers" workshop on the Monday and Tuesday immediately prior to GHC. This programme is based off the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA) training division and will provide participating students with the skills required to prepare, plan and deliver effective training sessions to their colleagues. Interested? An application process will be released in April, 2008 outlining how to become involved.

For delegates who want to learn a variety of skills, training workshops covering a range of topics will be run on Thursday 3rd of July at Melbourne University. Training sessions aim to equip all delegates with practical skills such as leadership, policy writing, political negotiation, advocacy, forming organisations, and organising events & campaigns. Such skills will prove to be invaluable when delegates return to their local area and wish to become more involved with their Global Health Group. All delegates are encouraged to attend this training, and can indicate their interest on during the registration process.
In addition to this, a number of non-government and academic organisations will facilitate sessions exploring the ways in which delegates can become more involved in global health issues both in Australia and abroad.
