One unique aspect of the Global Health Conference is the ability of the academic program to engage delegates in meaningful dialogue and discussion within a small group environment. In 2008, the Academic Committee have developed a world-class workshop program, the content of which has been written entirely by students and reviewed by expert academics and professionals working in the relevant field/s.
Each of the five conference Academic Streams has within it two entirely distinct workshops, each dealing with separate - though related - issues falling within the broader context of the stream's focus. Delegates will be allocated to one of these workshops (not both) to explore the content in depth under the guidance of an expert facilitator.
Two 90-minute workshop sessions - the first on Friday, the second on Saturday - will then be followed by an hour-long wrap-up session on Sunday. Here, delegates from both workshops within each stream will come together to share outcomes and discuss common, broader issues of relevance. The workshops will employ a range of content, theoretical and practical, from case-studies to hypothetical scenarios to assist in drawing the maximum learning outcomes from sessions.
Below please find links to the pre-reading material for each of the workshops. All delegates will receive printed copies upon commencement of the first session on Friday, however expectations are that participants will be closely familiar with all the pre-reading content for their allocated workshop (please note that both Stream 2 workshops share common pre-reading material).
Allocations to workshops will be emailed to delegates very shortly.
