What is AMSA Academy?

AMSA Academy is an online learning platform, across multiple disciplines within medicine, that offers expert speaker presentations, interactive quizzes, robust forums and exciting prizes. We will take you on a journey like never before to broaden your knowledge, connect you with like-minded peers and help you realise your true potential as a future medical professional, within the comforts of your home.

 

Many students say that volunteering as a part of AMSA is one of their best experiences at medical school! Being involved with AMSA will enrich your medical school experience and upskill you; you will be able to develop your teamwork, leadership and troubleshooting skills, setting you up with skills for life in the medical profession.

Position Descriptions

National Co-ordinator

Reports to

Primary Tasks

    Oversee the strategic direction and development of AMSA Academy

Overall Goals for 2017

Increase the number of high quality academic courses on offer

Responsibilities

To manage the AMSA Academy team and look after all volunteers under your care.

To oversee the recruitment, induction and management of module convenors.

Conduct regular reviews of the modules ensuring they are up to date and accurate.

Liaise and work closely with medical faculties and external partner organisations to gain endorsement of AMSA Academy

Establish internal documents and handover protocols to ensure the operational sustainability of AMSA Academy in the future.

To increase engagement with AMSA Academy through effective marketing.

Responsibilities

Development of new promotional material for AMSA Academy across various mediums (incl. FaceBook, events, university outreach).

Overseeing AMSA Academy’s FaceBook page

Ensuring AMSA Academy is consistently and effectively marketed to a wide audience throughout the year.

Primary Tasks

    To ensure consistency and quality of the AMSA Academy modules available so that they provide tangible value to medical students.

Overall Goals for 2017

Develop induction documents for Module Convenor and Module developers.

Create outlines for future content of AMSA Academy modules and assist in recruitment of Module convenors.

Responsibilities

Introduce all new module convenors to the consistent format required of AMSA Academy modules.

Discuss process of uploading, review and timelines for development of modules.

Serve as primary port of call for Module convenors.

Team Meetings with module convenors to track progress, solve problems and prevent overlap

Year timeline - working with promotions officer to plan out new module releases.
